Next Steps - for Free Website Design

I will build your site using Joomla (www.joomla.org), which is a free content management system that makes creating professional websites easy. You will create and maintain the content and I will be available to make menu and function changes as needed. Please read the following carefully.

Please e-mail me the details described below. I work virtually, so please do not email me and ask me to call you. All you need to do is follow the instructions below. If you do not understand something please let me know else your next communication to me should contain all the details requested below.

1) Please make sure that what you send me is clearly labeled. For example, My Menu (Contact Us, About, etc.) My Keywords (list your key words that people will type in the search engine to find you). Everything you send me must be clearly labeled and in one document.

2) Please do not send me 15 emails each with a piece of information. That is simply too confusing.

3) DO NOT WRITE YOUR CONTENT IN UPPER CASE. Use mixed case please!

4) Put all your details in one Microsoft Word document or Text File and email to me when you have all the details together.

5) Do not send ZIP files.

6) Feel free to attach all images in that one email:

7) ~ Tell me your site menus and their position (for example left hand menu, top menu etc.)

8) Do not send content since you will add that later. (I give you a log in so you can add your content easily)

9) ~ Tell me who is your audience?

10 ) ~ Please provide a short description of your site so that I can enter it into the meta tags. This is the description people will see when they find you in a search engine. Practice by going into Google and searching for something. What you see in the result list is the description. Your description should be short like what you see in your search.

11) ~ I need you to provide a list of keywords or keyword phrases. These are words that you imagine people will type in a search engine to find your site. These MUST BE targeted. IF you use general words no one will find you! Look up "What re targeted keywords" in google to better understand. Please make sure that your content uses the keywords or keyword phrases you have given me. Please label this section as "My Keywords". Do not provide over 10 key words. You want your key words to be targeted (specific).

12) ~ Please tell me if there is an existing site(s) that you want to model your site? Provide me the website address

13) ~ Tell me what colors your want on your site (contracting colors are best so that the background does not interfere with the legibility of the content.)

14) ~ E-mail me the images that you want used, or describe the images that you'd like me to create.

15) Provide the control panel log in details (user name and password). I will need the FTP address, user name, and password to build your site. If you do not have a domain name then click here.

16) ~ To set up hosting service click on the menu item "Domain & Hosting Services". I will need the host log in details to install Joomla. If you have already installed it I will still need to log in details to set up the site. You may also click on the image below to set up your hosting account and domain.
