Next Steps - for Free Website Design

I will build your site using Joomla (www.joomla.org), which is a free content management system that makes creating professional websites easy. You will create and maintain the content and I will be available to make menu and function changes as needed.  Please read the following carefully.

Please e-mail me the details described below. I work virtually, so please do not email me and ask me to call you.  All you need to do is follow the instructions below. If you do not understand something please let me know else your next communication to me should contain all the details requested below. 

Please make sure that what you send me is clearly labeled.  For example, My Menu (Contact Us, About, etc.) My Key words (list your key words that people will type in the search engine to find you). Everything you send me must be clearly labeled and in one document.  Please do not send me 15 emails each with a piece of information. That is simply too confusing. DO NOT WRITE YOUR CONTENT IN UPPER CASE.  Use mixed case pleaes! Put all your details in one Word document and email to me when you have all the details together.  Do not send ZIP files. Feel free to attach all images in that one email:

~ Tell me your site menus. No need to send content since you will add that later.

~ Tell me who is your audience?

~ Please provide a short description of your site so that I can enter it into the meta tags. This is the description people will see when they find you in a search engine.

~ I need you to provide a list of keywords or keyword phrases. These are words that you imagine people will type in a search engine to find your site.  Please make sure that your content uses these keywords or keyword phrases. Please label this section as "My Keywords". Do not provide over 10 key words.  You want your key words to be targeted (specific).

~ Please tell me if there is an existing site(s) that you want to model your site? Provide me the website address

~ Tell me what colors your want on your site (contracting colors are best so that the background does not interfere with the legibility of the content.)

~ E-mail me the images that you want used, or describe the images that you'd like me to create.

~ Do you have a domain name (i.e. www.your-web-site-name.com)? I will need the FTP address, user name, and password to build your site. If you do not have a domain name I can recommend services to help you obtain one by clicking ont he left menu item "Hosting Service". There you will find an option for registering a doman. You will see images like the ones below.

~ If you are setting up hosting service then when you see the option to select operating system, please get Linux operating system because this is what 99% websites are built with and what I build with as well. Please make sure your host runs Joomla.  I will need the host login details to install Joomla. If you have already installed it then I need the admin login details.

I will create a test directory to build the site initially and then after you decide you like it then I will move the code to the main site.

~ Do you have an existing hosting account (the hosting account is where your website pages are stored). I will need the account login in order to install the software. *Please note that I do not write your content.  I design, optimize, and build your site. You add your content. I will provide you a log in  that will give yu access to add content. Please spell check your work.
